Middle Triassic Reptiles in the world
During the Triassic 200 million years ago, the continents on the earth were united as a whole, collectively known as Pangea. The eastern part of the continent was the Paleo-Tethys Sea, and the western end of the Tethys Sea was surrounded by fossils from West Asia, Europe and North Africa. The fossils in this area were called the West Tethys fauna. The South China Plate was located in the eastern part of the Tethys Sea and the animal fossils were called the Eastern Tethys fauna. Fossils from North America are located in the western part of the Pan-continent, known as the Eastern Pacific fauna.
