Museums are dedicated to education and research. They carry knowledge and civilization. Telling the stories of museums well is the most direct way to spread historical culture, inherit excellent traditions, and promote local culture. Even though we live in a peaceful era, we still need to learn history, be good cultural successors, and become the next generation to promote culture.

May 18, 2024, marks the 48th International Museum Day, with this year's theme being "Museums for Education and Research." Under the organization and leadership of the Xingyi City Culture and Tourism Bureau, we held an event titled "Museums Enter the Masses, Museums Enter Life" in the central district of the city. We set up a science knowledge corridor, historical and cultural books, and publicity materials to popularize among the general public, making science more accessible to everyday life and allowing culture to benefit the people. We aimed to break down the cultural barriers of museums and let scientific culture soak into people's hearts. The event was bustling with excitement, with many members of the public gathering around to learn about the century-old history of Xingyi and its hundred-million-year geological changes, marveling at the hard-earned happiness of our lives today.

A museum is a palace of civilization and an ocean of knowledge. Stepping into the profound classroom of a museum is also an important channel for cultural benefits to the people and for cultivating the public's historical and cultural awareness. The activities of the "5.18 International Museum Day" have played a role in connecting different museums, laying the groundwork for museums to enter daily life and also promoting the spread and inheritance of Xingyi's local culture.
