Shennongjia National Park exchange study in Xingyi Geopark

In order to strengthen the communication and cooperation among geoparks and help the application the Xingyi Global Geopark, Li Chunqing, a member of the Party Committee and deputy director of Shennongjia National Park Administration, and his delegation visited Xingyi from May 27 to 29, 2023 to inspect and exchange information on the declaration and application of Xingyi Global Geopark.

Colleagues from the Qianxinan Forestry Bureau, the Prefecture Application and Construction Office of Xingyi Global Geopark, the Xingyi Geopark Administration , and  Xingyi Wanfenglin Tourism Group Co., Ltd. joined in this inspection and communicated with the delegation from Shenlongjia .

 The inspection team of ShenlongJia visited Xingyi Geopark Museum，Xingyi Keichousaurus in-situ Conservation Museum, Wanfenglin Scenic Area and Malinghe Scenic Area，and two geopark partners the Qianxinan Green Animal and Plant Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd（Lüyuan Flower Cultivation Base）and the Cuckoo Cultural and Folklore Garden of Buyi Minority. The manager of Lüyuan Flower Cultivation Base，Deng Keyun introduced their successful experience on the biodiversity protection and the promotion on the participation of communities and indigenous people in orchid planting. Lüyuan Flower Cultivation Base driven the economic development of communities and vigorously promoted the cultural characteristics of Chinese orchids.
 In the Cultural and Folklore Garden, we learned that the company has played a leading role in promoting local ethnic characteristics and driving the employment of indigenous people, especially the employment of women with family difficulties.

After the inspection， Xingyi Geopark Administration and Qianxinan Forestry Bureau held a communication meeting with the Shenlongjia delegation. The two sides exchanged the experience on the protection of geoheritage,geopark management, geo-education，geo-tourism ，and local community participation and development. Shenlongjia National Park provided good advice on geopark management and the indigenous people participation. In the future, Xingyi Geopark will try its best to do good job on the application of Xingyi Geopark.



Xingyi Geopark and Shenlongjia National Park signed up a  cooperation contract and will conduct communications on geopark management and development in the future.
